I like NFL football, and the NFL is the most fascist sports organization there is, therefore I am not punk.
2002-11-11 . 12:16 a.m.

I remember this nice, peaceful feeling that used to come to me after I exhausted myself playing basketball or backyard football.

My idol was Al Toon, which is odd, because I'm more like Wayne Chrebet's size.

I just can't remember ever feeling as mentally and physically at peace as I did when I came home sweaty, tired, and dirty after a long summer day.

Maybe it had something to do with not being in school.

I went to the Jets game tonight. It was my first football game in a million years, and the third of my life. I saw the Giants and Packers play back when Randy Wright was the Packers QB and Joe Morris ran for the Giants. The last Jet game I was at Boomer Esiason was the quarterback, but he got injured during the game and he was replaced by Jack Trudeau. (Blah. He was horrible.)

Highlights of the game tonight were:

Security coming to deal with some fight between a young tough guy, his girly girlfriend, and an old drunk guy.

The band that sings "Who Let the Dogs Out" playing at halftime, and a bald, stereotypical blue collar guy walking down the stairs sarcastically saying "Wow! I hope I remembered to put my VCR on record!"

A Dolphins fan standing up in the crowd to cheer, and getting beaned in the head from behind with garbage. He then turned to see where it came from, and someone 6 seats down horizontally beaned him again while he was looking back.

(Like clockwork, those Jets fans are.)

On the way back to our car, we passed a car covered in leaves. Some prankster had brought bags of leaves and covered the car in them.

It was a long walk, and we ran a lot of the way to beat the traffic.

I felt kind of sweaty and tired, but peaceful.
